Description: While Africa has enjoyed over a decade of robust economic growth, making significant progress in health and economic development, the region still lags behind developing Asia and Eastern Europe in translating its growth into improvements in the overall wellbeing of its citizens. Despite a recent slowdown in Africa's growth, largely as a result of falling commodity prices, prospects for further social and economic gains remain promising. Economic diversification, trade and effective governance are fundamental to fostering inclusive growth, socio-economic development and greater social wellbeing for Africa's citizens.
