Geneva has a number of actors that work on community resilience and built environments.
The right to adequate, affordable housing is expressed in the Geneva United Nations Charter on Sustainable Housing. UNECE’s work on housing helps citizens across the region gain access to affordable stable housing.
UNICEF launched the Child-Friendly Cities and Communities Initiative (CFCI) Toolkit to support establishment of childfriendly cities and communities that respect the principles enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Cities and communities (SDG 11) are where people frst feel the effects of sustainable development. The way cities are constructed can enhance sustainable consumption and production (SDG 12), reduce inequality (SDG 10) and tensions (SDG 16), and lessen the impacts of climate change (SDG 13).
