PROMOTE SUSTAINED, INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH, FULL AND PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYMENT AND DECENT WORK FOR ALL

Being home to the International Labour Organization, which has promoted decent work and economic empowerment for nearly 100 years, Geneva has a rich community of practice on normative functions and technical assistance for decent work and just transitions.

INITIATIVES:

Through its Decent Work Agenda, the ILO convenes tripartite processes that include governments, workers and employers in promoting jobs and enterprise, guaranteeing rights at work, extending social protection, and ensuring open, inclusive social dialogue.

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Digital Inclusion platform promoted the digital skills needed in today and tomorrow’s economy.

LINKAGES:

Gainful, fair employment (SDG 8) is one of the most important factors for poverty alleviation (SDG 1) and reducing inequality (SDG 10) globally. Strong education (SDG 4) and gender equality (SDG 5) are important in realizing decent work for all.
