ENSURE AVAILABILITY AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL

Geneva is home to UN Water, the UN’s coordination body for water and sanitation issues, and therefore has a rich ecosystem of actors working on issues including water access, water quality, sanitation, and water-peace issues such as transboundary water regulation.

INITIATIVES:

Waterpreneurs builds water thematic impact funds that provide fnancial vehicles, which close the fnancial gap for growth stage entrepreneurs in the water sector.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) develops standards providing guidelines for service activities relating to drinking water supply systems, wastewater sewage systems, and water reuse.

LINKAGES:

Clean, accessible water (SDG 6) is fundamental to the health of people (SDG 3) and enables global agriculture (SDG 2) and energy systems (SDG 7). Sanitation is crucial for dignity (SDG 10) and equality (SDG 5).
